As announced this evening during the Game Developers Conference, Activision and Tencent's free-to-play mobile adaptation of Call of Dutywill make its way to iOS and Android devices in North and South America, Europe, and other regions later this year. The appropriately titled Call of Duty: Mobiledraws familiar faces, guns, and modes from past games including Modern Warfareand Black Ops.
If you're in the market for a new mobile distraction, you can pre-register right now.
There's no mention of Blackout, Call of Duty's answer to the battle royale craze, but Activision has confirmed modes like Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Free-For-All as well as maps like Nuketown, Crash, and Hijacked. Given the competition, I have to imagine battle royale will pop up.
I also have to wonder if Call of Duty: Mobilecould be the series' path toward Nintendo Switch. After all, the game is made with Unity and Tencent successfully brought Arena of Valorover to Switch.
