Yoji Shinkawa's art is immediately recognizable. When Square Enix's upcoming shooter Left Alive was announced, one of my first thoughts was how familiar -- and beautiful -- its promotional art was. Shinkawa's illustrations have graced Metal Gear Solid covers and promotional pieces throughout the series, and many associate his distinct style with those games.
His work has been available in collected volumes in Japanese for a while, but Dark Horse Comics is bringing it to English-speaking audiences in a two-book set titled The Art of Metal Gear Solid I-IV.
