Believe it or not, today is "Goku Day" in Japan, celebrating the existence of the pop culture icon and Dragon Ball protagonist. The reason May 9 is chosen as the fated date is due to the phonetic pronunciation of May - "Go" or "Go gatsu" - and nine - "Ku" - hence "Go-Ku." Well, it works just as well as May the Fourth at any rate.
To celebrate, publisher Bandai Namco has put together a fun trailer focusing on the spiky-haired lead as he appears in their own Dragon Ball FighterZ. In the video, Goku - who infamously features on the roster multiple times in an abundance of different forms - recreates his most memorable fights and encounters, using the game's engine and cutscenes to tell the story of his life. That's pretty smart, kudos to the production team.
