Speaking in the latest issue of Famitsu, D3 Publisher have unfortunately announced that their upcoming bug hunt Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, will not be hitting its scheduled 2018 release date.
Joining a plethora of titles that have been pushed back to 2019, the new EDF adventure needs more time to fine-tune its trademark blend of fast action, monster mayhem and weird, comedic overtones. Iron Rain is not being developed by series stalwart Sandlot this time around, instead being built by Yukes, in an effort to give the series a fresh new look and feel.
Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain was announced for the PS4 at last year's Tokyo Game Show, but it looks like there's still a ways to go before we can get back to saving the world from giant ants and other such creepy terrors.
