The peculiar ecosystem simulator Birthdays the Beginningis coming to Nintendo Switch as Happy Birthdays, and as announced today, the port will hit North America on June 5 and Europe on June 8.
The game is a slow burn and requires patience, but once you're hooked, there's no stopping it.
You'll tinker with a sandbox world, raising and lowering the elevation to give rise to new plants and animals who will -- over many years, and with the right conditions -- evolve and hopefully do well enough to flourish. It's so satisfying to check off everything on your giant evolutionary to-do list.
Happy Birthdays will have some enhancements over the original PlayStation 4 and PC game, including user-interface updates, new creatures, and a "Stars" system for unlocking items. I'm somewhat wary of how it'll run on Switch, but I'm not fooling anyone: I'm totally down to play this again.
