Nintendo just blew Smash fans away with an out of nowhere version 3.0.0 announcement for Ultimate. This update is multifaceted, mostly because it's a mix of premium (Persona 5's Joker) and free content that's pretty much all golden.
You can get a better look at Joker and his moveset here, but note that he arrives with a new stage, a ton of Persona music tracks, and a handful of extra spirits. There's also a video editor in tow, as well as a stage builder and the ability to share creations online (as well as Mii Fighters and replays).
Joker isn't the only character that was changed though: nearly the entire roster was tweaked. The big alterations include Corrin, who has been buffed across the board with increased attack ranges, longer launch distances and the ability to more easily land multiple hits for several abilities. I know some people put zero stock in tier lists, but Corrin seemingly has a low use rate online, so maybe this will turn the character around a bit.
Diddy Kong (who orbits around mid-tier in Ultimate depending on the list) also got several range, speed, and power buffs, as did King K. Rool, Mewtwo, and Kirby. Mega Man was nerfed slightly with reduced shield power for most of his attacks, and Rosalina & Luma perhaps received the most changes outside of parameter tweaks with alterations to Luma's AI.
Feel free to diffuse the full patch notes below!
