It's that time of year again. The leaves are turning colors, the reds and yellows and browns you might find inside a Beefy Nacho Griller. There's a crispness in the air, not unlike the bubbly carbonation in a refreshing Baja Blast. You're going to eat some Taco Bell on the off-chance that you might win an Xbox One X.
For the third year in a row, Taco Bell and Microsoft have teamed up to run an Xbox One X giveaway. The method is the exact same as last year. Buy a $5 Double Chalupa Box, text a code to enter, maybe you'll be a lucky winner. They're giving a prize package away every 10 minutes. It starts on October 17.
This year's prize, however, is slightly different. In 2018, Microsoft manufactured a bunch of Platinum-colored Xbox One X consoles -- a white machine where the gradient eventually transitioned to a nice gray. This Xbox One X is like the inverse. Dubbed the Xbox One X Eclipse Bundle, this console is primarily black before shifting to a near-white.
There are a few more goodies packed in. Most notably, this Taco Bell bundle comes with the Elite Controller Series 2, which isn't actually on store shelves until November 4. It's a $180 controller to go alongside a $500 console. Also, winners get six months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Even if you don't win, there's a way to leverage eating some Taco Bell into getting some free stuff. Ordering the Double Chalupa Box through the Taco Bell app or online at ta.co (fantastic use of that top-level domain) will net you a two-week code for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Two of those can be redeemed over the course of the promotion, adding up to one month of Game Pass Ultimate.
If you find yourself completely head-over-heels for the Eclipse Xbox One X, you should probably note that winning it is likely the only method of getting your hands on one -- apart from paying ridiculous prices on eBay. Last year's Platinum Xbox One X never went on sale. Microsoft manufactured 5,000-ish and gave them all away through Taco Bell. Expect the same this time. Get to double-fisting those Double Chalupas.
