Monster Hunter World had an impact that many other games in the series have failed to really hit. Not only was it announced for a worldwide release very quickly (rather than months or even years later in coy fashion), but it was also developed for multiple core console platforms (PS4 and Xbox One), PC, and features cross-region (but not cross-platform) play.
They came out of the gate swinging rather than cater to a niche, and I think it's paying off. Many folks who have checked out of the series for some time seem back in, myself included. This new set of trailers, which showcase day-to-day UI stuff and more action-oriented sequences, only helps augment my feelings so far.
Monster Hunter World will arrive in early 2018.
