My Nintendo swaps around European rewards, a few are Metroid related

November 02, 2017 1 min read

If you still happen to log into My Nintendo and live in Europe, you'll find some new rewards waiting for you. You can nab 50% off A Link to the Pastand Link's Awakening DX, as well as 40% off Metroid Prime Hunters for a bit of gold points (read: currency you get after buying stuff). For the freemium Platinum currency you can nab 20% off Art Academy: Atelier, New Art Academy, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, or Metroid Prime: Federation Force, or 30% off Tank Troopers.

One of the most baffling parts of this service is the lack of real Switch support. I mean we're getting to the point where any points you have earned from Switch purchases are nearly going to expire, and there's essentially nothing to spend them on within the Switch ecosystem.

Maybe Nintendo is doing their patented "wait and see" big launch type of deal with their online service, but the idea that you can't use your points to buy some sort of voucher code for a first-party game, and potentially have them expire, feels bad.
