On Friday, June 9 Sony is releasing a new Golden PlayStation 4 1TB "Limited Edition" console. The console will command a $299.99 MSRP, but as an introductory price through June 17, retailers are allowed to give it a $50 discount to $249.99. This console is now available at three big retailers for pre-order today: GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon.
Interestingly, not all three retailers are showing the same June 9 release date. While it doesn't look like a typo, it appears GameStop is jumping the gun and are now offering the Gold 1TB PS4 one day early on Thursday, June 8 (tomorrow).
While the PS4 Slim 500GB has been at $250 before in various bundle formats (Uncharted 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, etc.), this is the first time you'll spot 1TB units at this price from major retailers. Note that this is a console only and it comes with zero games.
