NieR: Automata surpasses 300,000 sales in Japan

Drakengard and even the original Nier were so niche it's still a little surprising to see how successful NieR: Automata has become. Even Persona was a humble spin-off series that is now a global blockbuster. The stigma against Japanese games has seemingly vanished.

There were no major releases this week, so top dogs Monster Hunter XX and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild stayed on top. On the hardware end, the Nintendo Switch just keeps roaring, with another 45K. The only other console to see an increase in sales from the previous week is the Xbox One, who soared from 132 to 142 this past week. Keep at it!
