World of Warcraft Classic has had a hell of an opening. WoW is in the collective zeitgeist yet again, and Blizzard managed to do it while keeping the main version of the game still running.
To keep that momentum going and to alleviate any concerns over packed realms and long queue times, Blizard is working on free character moves soon. Translation: you'll be able to move your character over to from select realms (servers) for free, a service that's typically reserved for paying customers in the live version.
Blizzard explains that the feature is coming soon, and that "when free character moves become available from one of the most highly-populated realms, players will see the option to initialize a free character move on either the character select screen or the queue screen of the realm." If you want to take advantage of it, make sure you have no mail, you're not a guild leader, or have active auctions or bids.
More details are coming soon, as well as a list of realms that will allow it. Good move, Blizzard! You don't want to lose people because they can't log into the game when they want to play it.
